DWI Substance Abuse Assessments

In North Carolina, a DWI Substance Abuse Assessment is mandatory for anyone convicted of Driving While Impaired (DWI). Completion of this assessment is a prerequisite for obtaining a Limited Driving Privilege.

To meet state requirements and restore your driver’s license, DWI Substance Abuse Assessments and treatment groups must be conducted by facilities licensed by the state of North Carolina.

At Twin City Counseling, we are a licensed provider committed to guiding you through this process with professionalism and care.

A DWI Substance Abuse Assessment is a thorough evaluation designed to determine an individual’s relationship with alcohol or drugs. This process includes:

  • An interview conducted by a Licensed or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor.
  • A structured assessment questionnaire to evaluate whether the individual has an alcohol or drug use disorder.

Possible Outcomes:

  • No alcohol or drug use disorder
  • Mild alcohol or drug use disorder
  • Moderate alcohol or drug use disorder
  • Severe alcohol or drug use disorder

The entire assessment process, including related paperwork, typically takes about 60 minutes to complete.

At Twin City Counseling, we are here to guide you through this process with efficiency, professionalism, and compassion.

Please bring the following items to your assessment appointment:

  • A copy of your ticket
  • A printout of your Breathalyzer or Blood Work

The cost of NC DWI Assessments is $100 + $16.00 to download current driving record.

The $100 fee is established by the Legislature of the State of NC. No agency in the state of NC is allowed by law to charge more or less than the lawful $100 fee. The full fee is to be collected at the time of the assessment.

You can choose any DWI assessment agency you want.

Twin City Counseling Center is fully licensed by NC DWI Services and will assist you with your assessment in a professional, confidential and timely manner.
